Feelings of Joy
Posts

How about trying a twist on a tradition this year? Make your own wreath to greet guests with a joy-filled hello! It’s a warm and wintery way to welcome friends.

Materials:
  • 14’’ macramé hoop
  • Super thick yarn (20 pieces)
  • Spruce
  • Gold wire
  • Winterberries
  • Wood beads
  • Gold paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Wire cutters

Instructions:

Step 1: To get started, cut yarn to 4½’ length. Loop yarn through macramé hoop. Line up ends of the yarn, fold yarn in half and tie a slipknot taut to the hoop. Repeat 20 times.

Step 2: Use tapestry needle to thread gold-painted wooden beads up single yarn strands randomly to make your design. Gather small spruce branches, cedar and berries. Use wire to bundle together, in a soft organic shape.

Step 3: At this point everything should start looking like it’s coming together beautifully.

Use an additional piece of wire to twist and attach branches and berries to macramé hoop. Trim yarn in a V shape for a delightfully simple and modern design. Create a 6" loop at the top of macramé hoop with yarn wrapped about 10 times, then tie and knot. Hook wreath to the wall or front door to spread the joy with passersby!
